Obituary of Linnie Bingiel
Linnie Mary (Hunnewell) Bingiel, passed away at the Wakefield Care and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday evening, January 6, 2010. The wife of the late Charles F. Bingiel, she was 96 years old.
Linnie was born, raised and educated in Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Eugenia Hunnewell. She worked at Houghton Mifflin in Cambridge and for 11 years at Almy’s in Burlington. Linnie was a lifetime member of the Senior Citizens in Burlington. She was an active member of the organization. She helped serve meals, played bingo and participated in the ceramic classes. Linnie loved going on vacation to such locations as York Beach, New Hampshire and Cape Cod. She was a talented seamstress and would make clothes for her children. She was a wonderful cook and her blueberry pies were everyone’s favorite. Linnie will be lovingly remembered by her family.
Linnie was the beloved wife of the late Charles F. Bingiel. She was the loving mother of Joan MacDonnell of Burlington and Carole Liberacki of Wilmington. She was the sister of the late Mildred Brown, Lillian McLaughlin, George Hunnewell, Alice Daily and Frances Albury. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren & 4 great great grandchildren.
A visiting hour will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Jan. 8 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., BURLINGTON at 11 a.m. Interment in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, Boston.
