I met Phyllis in 1975 when my family moved to Billerica and became active at the First Parish Church; it was a time of growth and involvement in the community and Church. Phyllis embraced us and embraced all the efforts that everyone put into the many groups in the Church. She was a delight. I often bumped into her at the Market Basket in Billerica and we shared what was going on (or not) in our lives. I will miss her very much.

It is with fond memories I will remember Phyllis. I am related to her husband Nils, Jr in that my Mom (Evelyn Grahn)was his cousin. Nils and Phyllis were close to us--especially around Holidays--we celebrated in the Smorgasbord tradition, and Phyllis always brought my mom an amaryllis! I can still hear mom sayin "Here comes Phyllis with the amaryllis" of course we would chuckle due to the rhyme. Mom stopped getting them after she moved to nursing home in Worcester 2 yr ago.(She just passed away 9 wks ago)
I was relieved to hear that she did not suffer long, as I
know what dementia and then Alzheimers are like. Good, too, she has so many dear friends to help straighten out things at this difficult time, we send our sincerest sympathy.

Phyllis was a great woman and had alot of talet with making projects for alot of the fundraisers at the First Parish Church. She worked many a Monday nught in the craft room making ornaments and other items to sell at the fair in November.
She was also always interested in the children. She was as proud of thier acheivements almost as much as thier parents.
She had a way of always making you feel that you were special when you spoke with her.
Her smile was always an uplifting sight.
She is with Nils now and content.
May she rest in peace.
My prayers are with her.

We know Phyllis is now dancing with Nils. She was a great friend and will be greatly missed. She made me be Cookie Monster for the first few cookie walks--you couldn't say "no" to her because she always gave more than was expected. And she loved to laugh!! Played a terrific game of Dominoes as well. She was a very talented woman and never seemed to tire from baking thousands of yummy cookies.
DJ and Adam will miss her as well, she was always wanting to hear a story about them. God Bless you, Phyllis. We love you.
