Obituary of Ramona Ciardi

Ramona “Dolly” Marie Ciardi, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at the Newton Wellesley Hospital on Sunday night, January 31, 2010. She was 81 years old. Dolly was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marion Fugazzotto. She grew up in Everett and Medford in a home filled with Italian cooking and traditions, a way of life that she followed with her own family. She graduated from Medford High School in 1946. She settled in Woburn in 48 years ago to raise her 2 children. She kept a warm and loving home. She was a great hostess and a very good listener and friend. That may be partly because she overcame Leukemia 36 years ago. She was a great cook and baker. Her family loved her Champagne Chicken and famous Apple Cake. She loved the holidays, celebrating birthdays, and other important family activity or event. She loved music old and new, movies, American Idol, figure skating, and flower gardening. She was a faithful supporter of St. Jude Hospital. She was a devoted wife, a caring and understanding mother, and proud grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by all her family and friends. Dolly was the beloved wife of Samuel Ciardi of Woburn. She was the loving mother of Denise M. Kane & her husband Edward of Woburn and Richard J. Ciardi, Sr. & his wife Catherine of Billerica. She is the sister of Dolores Eovine of Medford. She was the proud grandmother of Richard J. Ciardi, Jr. & his wife Abigail of Chelmsford, Amanda C. Ciardi, Michael A. Ciardi both of Billerica, Christopher E. Kane of Woburn and the late Christina M. Smith. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Memorial’s in Dolly’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P. O.
