Obituary of Jean Marie MacArthur
Jean Marie MacArthur, a woman who loved her family, friends, and work, passed away after a 2 year battle with cancer at her home with her husband and daughters at her bedside on Tuesday morning, February 2, 2010. She was 67 years old. Jean was born in Boston. She grew up in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. She lived in Burlington for 27 years prior to moving to Chelmsford 10 years ago. After raising her children, Jean joined her husband and father-in-law in founding the Butcher’s Pride meat market in Burlington. She loved the work, her fellow employees and the customers so much, that when the family sold the store, she remained with the new owners for several more years. She was currently working as a Patient Flow Coordinator in the Radiology Department of the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington for the past 15 years. She loved her job and worked as long as she was physically able.
Jean’s other love was that of her family. She married her husband Doug in June of 1962. Over the past 47 years they shared their work, dreams, desire to see the world, hobbies, interests, and raising a family. She was a devoted daughter and sister. She was a loving and understanding mother. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was always there with a helping hand, a special gift, or just to share their company. She leaves her family and friends lasting memories and will be forever remembered.
