Obituary of Noreen Gilbert

Noreen M. (Lee) Gilbert, a resident of Burlington for 43 years, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Thursday, February 4, 2010. The wife of the late Alfred A. Gilbert who passed away in September 2009, she was 69 years old. Noreen was born in Boston. She was the daughter of Irish Immigrants the late John and Bridie Lee. Noreen was raised and educated in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington High School. She worked a number of part-time jobs while her sons were growing up. She then went on to have a career as a Financial Aid Administrator for Student Loans at Harvard University. She retired after 15 years. Noreen enjoyed collecting recipes as well as cooking and baking. She treasured the times she spent with her sons and their children. Noreen is the beloved wife of the late Alfred A. Gilbert. She was the loving mother of Robert Gilbert & his wife Faith and John Gilbert & his wife Diane both of West Chester, OH. She was the sister of Eileen Harris of Melbourne, FL formerly of Arlington. She was the niece of Nell Waldron of Arlington. Devoted grandmother of Chase, Charlie, Ava, Luka & Lydia. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, Feb. 8 at 10:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 1-4 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
