Obituary of Walter Scott

Walter “Ted” Scott, a resident of Burlington for 49 years, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 18, 2006. The husband of Audrey (Newton) Scott, he was 78 years old. Ted was born in Waltham. He was the son of the late Walter & Dorothy Scott. He was raised and educated in Newton. He was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Army Ted was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal. He was a graduate of the co-op program at Northeastern University in Boston where he was the recipient of an Engineering Degree. Ted had a long and distinguished career as a Mechanical Engineer. He worked at GTE, Sylvania, and Sanders. He retired from Travis Associates in Burlington where he worked as a Placement Recruiter for Engineering Jobs. Ted and his family summered at Nippo Lake in Barrington, New Hampshire. He enjoyed golfing and motor boating. He was especially proud of his boat, which was his pride and joy. Ted and his wife Audrey were also active at the senior center in Burlington where they were regular participants in the exercise class. Ted’s family was very important to him. He was devoted to his wife Audrey and his three children and in recent years he treasured the many special times he spent with his two granddaughters. Ted is the beloved husband of Audrey (Newton). He is the loving father of Mark & his wife Priscilla of Andover, Craig of Burlington, and Cheryl of Denver, CO. He is the loving grandfather of Alexandra and Maia-Lin Scott. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt., 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, June 22 at 9:00 a.m. Followed by Funeral Services at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 6 Lexington St., Burlington at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
