Hi Paul,
I just found out this week from my dad that Maria passed away. I'm so sorry to hear that. Ted and I would have come if we had known sooner. I knew Maria had diabetes and that she had lost a leg, but I didn't know she was that sick. I read the article in the globe when the Fasfa was cut and she was interviewed. I know that we do not see each other that often, but we are first cousins. I read what you wrote what a beautiful tribute to you wife. She was the backbone behind your two sons. I know I have two sons also. Her two best friends sound like my two best friends. I'm sure that she is in Heaven, I hope that your beautiful memories of her help you through this. I hear that your dad isn't well and is loosing his eye sight. Its hard when your parents get old. My mother died two years ago this August she was 79 and Ted's mother passed away two years ago this February. She at least made it until 89, but she had liver cancer and was suffering at the end. I'll be 54 on April 2, and I really try to appreciate life. I think as we get older we realize whats important, family, friends and your health. I hope you get this e-mail.
Love,
Karen & Ted Hunt

The McDavitt Family wishes to extend our expressions of sympathy to the Ferraguto Family on the passing of Maria, a wonderful woman who will be sorely missed. Because my own mother's wake and funeral coincided exactly with Maria's, we were not able to be in attendance to extend our sympathies personally to the Ferraguto Family. But I remember praying for Maria back in the late 1990's when Mary McDavitt donated a kidney to Maria, and actually we were all praying very hard then that Maria's body would accept the kidney. The kidney was accepted, and thankfully Maria went on to experience several more significant years with her family and friends. But the heroism Maria displayed, always showing concern for other people's welfare while in pain herself, is an example for us all. Requiescat In Pace.

Dear Mr.Ferraguto, Mark and Michael,
I just received the shocking news about Mrs. Ferraguto's death and I can't find the words to tell you how sad I am for all of you. I know she suffered and fought for a very long time and I always knew how fortunate she was to have had the three of you to love her and take such wonderful care of her.
Mr. Ferraguto: I am so grateful for all you both have done for your two wonderful sons - both Mark and Michael are two of the finest musicians and finest people I have ever known during my 25 years at Holy Cross. They were both dedicated, loyal members of our Holy Cross Schola Cantorum and I will never forget them for their warm friendship, support and service to singing God's praises every Sunday during their four years at Holy Cross. I was so moved to hear all that Mrs. Ferraguto did to make it possible for both Mark and Michael to attend St. Paul's Choir School in Cambridge and for her encouragement for them to pursue their dreams in music.
We will remember Mrs. Ferraguto in our prayers at Holy Cross throughout the seasons of Lent and Easter. On March 21 at our 11:30 AM Mass at Holy Cross (which is also Bach's 325th birthday), the Schola will dedicate the last movement of Bach's sublme B Minor Mass, Dona nobis pacem ("Grant us thy peace"), to her memory and to thank her for giving Mark and Michael to the music world.
Sadly, I am away and will be unable to attend the funeral, but I will be thinking and praying for all of you.
May her soul rest in God's peace and love forever and ever - Amen!
Jim Christie

It was with immense sadness that I learned of Maria's passing from David. As you know, she was my best friend growing up and I treasure all my memories despite not being in contact these last years. I know how she suffered and I hope that now she is at peace. All our love to Paul, Mark, Michael, and Mrs Nuovo. We will be thinking and praying for all of you.

We never could remember how we met in High School but we've been sisters since then. I will always cherish our friendship, our memories and our secrets. You are the bravest person I've ever known and my inspiration as I face my own challenges. Your family is a testament to your love.
Paul, Michael and Mark, Maria was so proud of you. I wish you strength and comfort at this difficult time.
