Obituary of Anthony Provenzano
Anthony R. Provenzano, who celebrated his 56th wedding anniversary on Valentine’s Day passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Wednesday morning, February 17, 2010, he was 82 years old. He had resided in Burlington since October of 1971. Tony was born in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of Sicilian immigrants the late Joseph and Rosalie Provenzano. He grew up in East Boston and attended trade school. Tony had a successful career as a Sheet Metal Technician/Fabricator. He worked at Textron, formerly AVCO for over 30 years. One of the more notable projects he worked on was the heat shield for Apollo 11 Re-entry Capsule. He loved working with his hands. At home, he did woodworking, sheet metal and copper artwork. He won a prize at AVCO for a copy of the Declaration of Independence he made out of copper. He enjoyed gardening and was very proud of his grape arbors. He loved his family and enjoyed being a part of his children and grandchildren’s lives.
Anthony was the beloved husband of 56 years of Marie A. (Clemens). Loving father of Joseph & his wife Susan of Carlisle, Lisa Ross of Nashua and Robert of Woburn. Brother of Rose Murano of Burlington. Proud grandfather of Courtney and Robert Ross.
Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Sat. Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
