Obituary of Vincent Magliozzi
Vincent Magliozzi, owner of Vincent T. V. Service in Somerville, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading following a brief illness. The husband of 61 years of Mary T. (O’Connell), he was 84 years old.
Vinnie was born in Elena Italy. He was the son of the late Angelo and Assunta Magliozzi. His family moved to the United States when he was five years old and settled in Somerville where he lived until settling in Burlington in 1961. Vinnie was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Army. He served over seas for two years participating in engagements in Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes, Central Europe and Northern France. He was the recipient of a number of medals including the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal.
Vinnie had a successful career as a television repairman. He owned Vincent’s T.V. Service in Somerville until his retirement. He serviced many customers in the Somerville area as well as his hometown of Burlington. Vinnie took pride in his home. He enjoyed cooking and entertaining for his family and friends. He also had a beautiful garden where he grew both flowers and vegetables. He enjoyed fishing with his sons in Cape Cod and Gloucester. Vinnie’s family was the center of his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather & brother.
Vinnie was the beloved husband of 61 years of Mary T. (O’Connell). He was the loving father of Carole Gallagher & her husband Phil of Burlington, Ronald Magliozzi & his wife Elaine of Townsend, Jane Hutchinson & her husband Alan of Templeton, Susan Laracy & her husband Matt of Andover, and Vincent E. Magliozzi & his wife Kim of West Townsend. Brother of Anthony & his wife Anna and Val & his wife Susan all of Burlington and the late Chuck. Vinnie is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, March 5 at 10 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
