Obituary of Charles Lander

Charles Lander, a retired custodian in the Burlington School System, passed away at the Lexington Health Care Center on Tuesday evening, March 2, 2010. The husband of the late Barbara (Bartlett) who passed away in September of 2009, he was 80 years old. Charles was born, raised and educated in Everett. He was the son of the late Frank and Rita Lander. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the United States Army. He worked as a custodian at the Francis Wyman School in Burlington where he formed many friendships. He was a sport enthusiast and followed the Everett High Football team with his brother for many years. During his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife Barbara to locations such as Florida and New Hampshire. Charles was the husband of the late Barbara (Bartlett). He was the loving brother of Eleanor Shea of Billerica, James Lander of Danvers, and the late Doris Donnelly, Erlander Lander, Catherine Lombardi, and Irene Pagliarulio. He was the stepfather of Noreen Novelline of Peabody, Priscilla Loiselle of Burlington, Barbara Davis of Milford, NH, Margaret Reppucci of Andover, Rebecca Morgan of Tewksbury, Estelle Burdick of Burlington, and Roberta Bielasz. Charles will be missed by many other family members and friends. Funeral services were private.
