Obituary of Mary Magliozzi

Mary T. (O’connell) Magliozzi, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, on Monday afternoon, March 15, 2010. The wife of 61 years of the late Vincent, who passed away on February 28, 2010, she was 84 years old. Mary was born, raised and educated in Somerville. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth O’Connell. Mary and Vinnie married on November 21, 1948 and settled in Burlington in 1961. Mary took great pride in being a homemaker and devoted her life to raising her family. She had a great love for her family and was the happiest when spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary also enjoyed spending times with her close friends from the neighborhood. She was blessed to live a life that spanned 84 years filled with love and family. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Vincent who passed away on Feb. 28, 2010. She was the loving mother of Carole Gallagher & her husband Phil of Burlington, Ronald & his wife Elaine of Townsend, Jane Hutchinson & her husband Alan of Templeton, Susan Laracy & her husband Matt of Andover, and Vincent E. & his wife Kim of West Townsend. She was the sister of Mabel Warren of Somerville, Edward O’Connell of Brewster, and the late Dorothy Ruth Mahoney, Agnes Collins, Francis, Thomas & Helen Owens. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, March 19 10 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment will be private. Memorials in Mary’s name may be made to VNA of Middlesex East & Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Avenue, Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880 for the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.
