Aunt Patty
Aunt Patty loved life, some say a little too much in her younger days.
But I believe it was those early years that shaped her life, her ability to overcome adversity which she did numerous times, her love and pride in family in her older sister Anna Mae who supported and cared for her these many years, her older brother Marty and the way she boasted about his ability to work with his hands and build things and her younger brother Johnny and his successes at an early age in business and in the families they all raised, she loved them all very much.
Aunt Patty did not gain joy out of life with material things. Her enjoyment in life was being around and talking to family and friends whether it was sitting around the table on Thanksgiving or Christmas being close by during one of her nieces or nephews birthday parties or picking up the phone to talk, and we all know how she loved to pick up that phone to talk.
It was during those times, those family gatherings, those phone conversations that Aunt Patty’s spirit, her love for life would shine through whether she was asking questions about her nieces and nephews, talking about her beloved Red Sox or just bursting out with that laugh that we all know and love.
Aunt Patty’s time has come.
The phone won’t ring anymore.
The laugh has gone silent.
But her spirit, her love for life will live on in all of our memories.
Rest in peace Aunt Patty – We love you….
