I know that this message is two years too late, but I just found Donald's obituary online. Donald's father, Michael, was my Grandfather, Nicholas Connolly's brother, making Donald my mother's first cousin. My mother is Madeline Connolly-Lidster from Cupids Crossing, Newfoundland. My sincere sympathies to Don's family and friends. I knew Don through The Lowell Five where I have worked for 30 years. He would stop at my office door and we would talk for a long time. He loved telling stories especially about being on the Police force. He was a great guy and my life was made a little better just by knowing him. May God grant you strength and peace at this difficult time.

Dad i am going to miss you greatly i love and admire you alot you are the greatest and strongest man i have ever known i love you and think of you as my dad i will miss you and i will miss cooking dinner for you and going to Royal Pastry to get you italian pasterys and the italian cake you loved so much it was always a pleasure to have you in my life and home i am going to miss having you come over and sit around the table with me over coffee and talk for hours on end about your life and how you talk about Jessica then we would swap cop stories to see who's was better you usally won i am going to miss your out going personality and the way you so unselfishly gave of yourself to any one who needed you and how you gave your time and patientce to anyone who was in need and never complained. I will greatly miss my Uncle Donnie, and fondly remember the times we all spent together at my grandma and grandpa Connolly's house when we would come visit from Oklahoma.As well as the times at all the cousins houses. I'm so sorry I am unable to be there with you all this weekend.I just can't get out there.I will be thinking of you all each day and you are in my prayers too.
