Fern, I just learned of Carls passing and it makes me sad to think of you without him. I worked for you both many (25?)years ago in your Chelmsford store when it first opened. It was one of my first jobs and you both treated me very well.Pattersons is a Burlington landmark because of your teamwork as business people. I own my own business with my husband Kevin and have thought of you often. Hope you and your girls & family are doing ok. With much appreciation over the years, Diane

Dear Fern,
I was so sorry to hear about Carl's passing and felt so bad that I would not be able to attend the services.
I was in Wyoming and received a call from Barbara Morrissey telling me the sad news.
Carl was a very special man and friend and as a true Marine he fought a valiant fight and is now with many of his loved ones and fellow Marines that went before him.
I have no doubt that Al stewart, Charlie Marshall and Harry along with other Marines were standing at attention and saluting Carl when he arrived at his new home.
I spoke with your two beautiful daughters at the store and as I told them always remember the wonderful times shared with their dad and some how with God's help you will all cope with your loss.
Please if I can help in any way if just to talk please don't hesitate to call.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Sincerely,
Helena Enos

The loss of a loved one can be so tragic to those who remain behind. Try to remember there is a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die: a time to weep, and a time to laugh: a time to morn, and a time to DANCE.

Fern and family,
So sorry for your loss. I hadn't seen Carl for a long time and then we reconnected in the past few years. He loved playing the lottery and we talked about that a lot! He loved winning, and really never made a fuss when he lost. I'm so glad he had some nice hits.(it made him so happy!) He was a great guy and we will all miss him at the store.(He was a fixture there) They were all saddened when I told them. We were wondering where he has been, because he never missed a day! I'm sorry for what he has been through and I'm sure he'll always be an angel by your side. My prayers are with you all. XO
