I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My mother, Jeanne McKenzie, is a cousin of Jim's father. Mom told us many times over the years about Jim and his family, and about his incredible faith. His obituary is a true testament to the kind of man he was. Mom told me today what a beautiful ceremony the funeral was, and that so many people attended that it was broadcast downstairs. Please know that all of Jim's family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jim through St Maragaret's church. We directed CCD together for many years. Every Sunday Jim and I would be organizing hundreds of kids and he would tease me because none of them were my own. My fondest memories of him were our monthly Wednesday meetings with Fr. Crispo. We would go with a list of things we'd love to try or improve and he would say it was up to me to bring it up because I was the youngest in the group. He always brought a smile my face and many others. I just learned of Jim's passing as I live in Georgia now. I am deeply saddened that I wasn't in town for his services. Kathy, i hope to see you in church so I can given you a big hug and my deepest sympathy to all of you.
Sincerely,
Kim

Jim was one of those people who, if you knew him, made you a better person. The whole town of Sudbury will miss him, a genuine "good guy".
I would make weekly, if not daily, visits to the store with my kids as they were growing up, and then, as he did for so many, he gave my son his first job. Jim always greeted us with a smile, and as the kids went off to school, Jim always needed updates on their lives. And he cared about my answers!
You should all be so proud, as I know you are, to be able to say that Jim was your husband and father.

Nancy and Jim
My heart breaks for you today. Our kids grew up together. For every Brush there was a Brine in class in the 80s all the way to college. I don't profess to be an expert in grief Nancy but I am here for you anytime, any place. I have not stepped foot in Sullivan's since my first born Ronnie died but if there is another way I could honor any of you, house sit, baby sit please let me know. I mean this most sincerely. Be good to each other. This is the hardest thing you will ever do.
Love and respect
Kathy

We are at a loss for words of comfort for Kathy and the kids and the extended Brine Family. Jim will live on in the memories of so many Burlington families whose kids played sports and shared times with Jim and Kathy and the kids. Jim lived for his family and was always ready to lend a hand in so many ways to help other families. What a wonderful, kindhearted and community spirited guy and we will miss him so. Kathy, Jenn, James,Colleen and Kaitlyn-we will be here to support you. Love, Glenn and Kerrin, Jordan, Jenna and Cameron Frank

I can't adequately express my sadness and sympathy to the entire Brine family, our next door neighbors for 40 years. Jim is a wonderful guy and I have many memories I've recalled today, mostly playing street hockey and baseball on an all-day basis when we were all kids on Lexington St. Jim was several years younger than most of us but that didn't make any difference, he was a heck of an athlete and had no issues playing with bigger kids. I also remember our team in the mens softball league when we were all in our 20's and 30's. Those were "good times" and half the team was all us guys that grew up together on Lexington Street, Jim and his brother Joe included. I most of all remember how polite and classy he always was, he never said a cross or angry or mean word to anyone about anything. It was a sign of his upbringing. We all loved him and none of us will forget him.
Peace and love to all of the Brines, always.

God bless the Brine family!! They are truly one of the strongest families around and raised one of the sweetest friends I met at Saint Anselm. I had a wonderful stay with all of you while Jenn and I started our orientation as new nurses. So many prayers and thoughts going out to Mr. Brine. He'll be smiling down on all of you for years to come. May God bless you all.
Love,
Kristen

Kathy & family, we are so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I hope the passage provides some comfort during this very difficult time. We will always keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
God saw you were getting tired and it was not meant to be .
So he put his arms around you and whispered, come to me.
With tearful eyes you watched him
And saw him pass away
Although we loved him dearly we could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best.
