Obituary of Philip Allen

Philip J. Allen, Jr. passed away at the Legend Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Gardner on Thursday morning, June 17, 2010. The husband of the late Laura (LoPresti) he was 80 years old. Philip had a successful career in retail clothing that began with Jordan Marsh and later exemplary years at Micky Finn’s. Along with his love of Elvis, Philip was also an avid sports fan, and hardly missed a Boston Red Sox or New England Patriots game. He lived in Burlington his entire life had moved to Fitchburg a few years ago to be closer to his god-daughter Tammy. Philip was the beloved husband of the late Laura (LoPresti) who passed away on June 23, 2003, as well as Margaret and Gilbert Oliveira. While he and his wife had no children of their own they had many much loved nieces, nephews and great-nieces. Philip was survived by his Niece and Godchild Tamblynne D. (Oliveira) Lacoy, and her husband Robert E. Lacoy ; a Great-Nephew Brandon T. Lacoy his wife Erica (Cullanine) Lacoy and their daughter Ariana Lacoy; a Great-Niece Tara (Lacoy) Schroeder her husband Lucas and daughters Peyton and Layla Schroeder. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, June 19 at 11a.m. A visiting hour will be held prior to the services from 10 – 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited to attend.
