Obituary of Edward Lowe

Edward W. Lowe, owner of Lowe Roofing, passed away after a long illness at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, on Monday, July 12, 2010. He was 55 years old. Ed was born in Boston, the son of the late Emory and Elizabeth Lowe. He grew up in Burlington and graduated from Burlington High School in 1973. Ed was a self made business man. Right out of high School, he started working in the roofing trade. Shortly thereafter, he started Lowe Roofing, which he owned and operated for 35 years. He believed in hard work and giving his customer a quality product at a fair price. He loved his work. Ed had made his home in Billerica for the past 10 years. He was active at the American Legion in Burlington. He was a car enthusiast. He enjoyed playing cards, especially poker. Ed enjoyed traveling with Las Vegas and Foxwoods being some of his favorite destinations. He had a great sense of humor and loved the Blues. He took his children to concerts, flea markets, and vacations. They had recently vacationed together in Maine. He leaves his family and friends with lasting memories and heavy hearts. Ed was the loving father of Shauna, Edward & Amy Lowe of Billerica and Blake Harris of Amesbury. Brother of Nancy Conley & her husband Chris of Billerica, Elizabeth Currier & her husband Barry of Amherst, NH, and James Lowe & his wife Maura of Burlington. Grandfather of Cameron Sherman of Billerica. Loving companion of Colleen Smith. Uncle of Christian & Shaun Conley, Danielle Austin, and Haley Currier. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, July 16 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers memorials in Ed’s name may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 88 Winchester St., Newton, MA 02461.
