Obituary of Betty Louise Paulson
Betty Louise Paulson, church pianist passed away at age 77. Betty was born in Duluth, MN, the daughter of the late Rev. Oscar Bernard Anderson and Helen Anderson. She grew up and was educated in Brockton. She went onto to graduate from Houghton College in New York State. Betty married John Paulson on November 23, 1948. She took great pride in raising her family and maintaining her home. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She was an exceptional seamstress. She had a vocation for music. Betty’s father was a minister, which provided her the opportunity to play the organ at Sunday church services when she was just a child. Over the years, she was the church organist and pianist at the Church of the Open Bible in Burlington and the Austin Baptist Church in Lynn. Eventually, her Parkinson’s disease would end her ability to play. Her retirement years have been spent in Amesbury and Winter Haven Florida.
Betty is the beloved wife of almost 58 years of John Paulson of Amesbury. She is the loving mother of John B. Paulson & his wife Sandy of Amesbury and Darlene Paulson of Andover. She is survived by 2 sisters; Pauline Anderson of Benicia, CA and Shirley Backlin of North Oxford and 3 granddaughters; Cara Edwards, Melissa Locher, and Kirsten Paulson. Great Grandmother of Elijah Locher. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday October 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fellowship Bible Church, 71 Center St., Burlington, MA, 01803. The burial will be private. Memorials in Betty’s name may be made to your local church music ministry
