Grandson, I wish you were here
in my heart you are the best,
I‘ll never forget you, too.
As you lay to rest;
I’ll wish it wasn’t you.
You’ll be missing in this world today;
So nobody else, will see,
Your journey of going away:
You’re the only you there’ll be!
So the heavens are yours
To love and live:
And you’ll find the happiness that endures
In just the measure you give.
There’s nothing too good for you to possess,
Nor heights where you cannot go:
Your power is more than belief or guess -
It is something you have to know.
So, Grandson, there is nothing to fear -
you can and you will.
For you are the incredible you.
Set your foot on the highest hill -
Someday I‘ll be looking for you.
