Obituary of Mary Patterson

Mary E. (Kelly) Patterson, a resident of Burlington for 57 years, passed away at her home on Wednesday afternoon, August 25, 2010. Mary would have celebrated her 81 birthday on August 30th. Mary was born, raised and educated in Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Kelly. She was a graduate of St. Mary Catholic High School in Cambridge. After graduating from high school Mary went to work at New England Trust Bank. She also worked temporary secretarial jobs throughout the years. When her two grandsons where born she stopped working and babysat the boys. Sean and Joe were her pride and joy. Mary had many friends and she was known to talk on the phone to her friends and family for hours at a time. She was an active member of the Burlington Council on Aging. She enjoyed oil painting and was an avid reader. Mary traveled and had visited such locations as Ireland, Florida, California, Arizona, New York City and Mt. Rushmore. Mary was the loving mother of Robert Patterson & his wife Kathleen and Nancy Moran all of Burlington. Sister of the late Walter Kelly. Devoted grandmother of Sean and Joseph Moran both of Burlington. Wife of Robert J. Patterson. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday Aug. 28 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
