Obituary of John Lee
John F. Lee, passed away at the Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. He was 84 years old.
John was one of eight children born to Irish immigrants the late Patrick and Delia Lee. John was born, raised and educated in Arlington. He was a Veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Navy. He was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal, the American Area Campaign Ribbon and the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Ribbon. John worked for over 25 years as a Carpenter in the maintenance department of Beverly Hospital.
John and his family enjoyed vacationing together and had taken many driving trips throughout the United States and Canada. He enjoyed reading and playing a good came of cribbage. John was a family man who enjoyed working around his home and being with his sons and their families.
John was the beloved husband of late Frances Audrey (Miller) and Mildred M. (Johnson). He was the loving father of Jack of Cambridge & Bob and his wife Bunny of Framingham. He was the brother of Donald E. Lee of Arlington, Barbara A. Lee of Norwood, and the late Mary V McBay, William J. Joseph P. Vincent P. Sr. & Robert E. Lee. Grandfather of Robert Jr., Kristina, Patricia & Jo Anna Lee. Great grandfather of Josh, Nick & Lilli Hodge.
A visiting hour will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 12 Noon. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in John’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
