Obituary of Anna Reed
Anna E. (Costello) Reed, passed away at the Seacoast Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010. The wife of the late Warren R. Reed she was 96 years old.
Anna was one of eight children born to Irish Immigrants the late John and Catherine Costello. Anna was raised and educated in Brighton. Anna and her late husband settled in Burlington where they raised their children and became active members of the community. She worked for Raytheon in Burlington but her primarily role was that of wife and mother. One of her families’ favorite destinations was vacationing in Gloucester where Anna and Warren eventually settled during their retirement. Anna enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, playing cards and being with family and friends. Anna was blessed to live a life that spanned 96 years and leaves of legacy of love for her family.
Anna is the beloved wife of the late Warren R. Reed. She was the loving mother of the late Barbara Dannaher & Russell Reed. Mother-in-law of James Dannaher and Barbara Reed both of Burlington. Sister of Margaret Gregson of Hingham and the late Catherine Lovett, Alice, Sr. Agatha “Mary”, Julia, John & Helen Costello. Grandmother of Deborah Garside, Karen Fagner & her husband Jon, Steven Reed, Brian Reed & his wife Sarah & Lauren Reed. Great Grandmother of Katie, Michael & Jean Fagner, Jeremy & Kelly Garside. Great Great grandmother of Derrick McDonald.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Ann’s Church, 70 Pleasant St., Gloucester on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 11 a.m. Memorials in Anna’s name may be made to the Charity of One’s Own Choice. Arrangements under the Direction of the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, BURLINGTON.
