Obituary of Frank Riccardi

Frank A. Riccardi, late owner of Napoli’s Market in Belmont passed away at home with his family at his bedside on Tuesday afternoon, August 31, 2010. He was 80 years old. Frank was born in Somerville, the son of Italian immigrants, the late Sylvester and Rose Riccardi. He grew up in Cambridge and Somerville. He was a hard working man, who often worked 6-7 days a week running his Butcher’s Shop “Napoli’s Market in Belmont. He owned the market for over 17 years and did his best to provide the best quality meats for his many loyal customers in the Belmont area. Frank was very generous and often donated his time to disabled and homeless Veterans. He was extremely proud of how he maintained his yard and loved working in his garden. He was a wonderful cook, with his rice balls being his grandchildren’s favorite dish. He took pride in being a good provider to his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Joanne, for 54 years. He was a caring and understanding father and a proud grandfather. He will be lovingly remembered by his many family and friends. Frank was the beloved husband of Joanne (Barufaldi). He was the loving father of Diane Hoffman & her husband Julien and Paul Riccardi & his wife Kathleen all of Chelmsford. He was the brother of Josephine Lepera of Cambridge, Pat Riccardi of Winchester and the late Mary Perrault, Edith Stafford, Margaret Buono, Rose Kushmerek, Sylvester and Dominic Riccardi. He was the proud grandfather of Justin & David Hoffman and Lauren & Nicole Riccardi. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Sept. 3 a 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, Woburn at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. Memorial donations in Frank’s name may be made to Visiting Nurse & Community Health Hospice, 37 Broadway, Arlington, MA 02474.
