Obituary of Geraldine Visco

Geraldine Visco, a woman devoted to her family, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Monday night, September 6, 2010. She was 82 years old. Geraldine “Gerry” was born in San Donato, Italy, the daughter of the late Loreto and Constanza Tramontozzi. She was raised and was educated in Italy. In her 20’s she emigrated from Italy to the United States. She returned to Italy to marry, Cesidio “Joe” Visco, who had also returned to Italy from Australia. They started their life together in Newton and eventually settled in Burlington in 1964 to raise their daughter. Gerry’s life was deep in Italian traditions. She was a wonderful baker and cook. She made homemade pasta and other Italian dishes. Her life revolved around her family, faith, and home. She enjoyed simple pleasures like working in her garden, family dinners, word searches, solitaire, and playing cards with her granddaughter. She was fortunate to share her home with her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. Gerry was a talented seamstress. She had worked at the Choate Hospital and Symmes Hospital as a Dietary Aid. Gerry was the beloved wife of the late Cesidio “Joe” Visco, who had worked for the Burlington Recreation Department. She was the loving mother of Josephine Bavaro & her husband John of Burlington. She was the devoted grandmother of Nicole Bavaro of Burlington. She was the sister of Antonetta DiBona of Newton, the late Francesca Antonellis, Francesco, Antonio, Emidio, and Donato Tramontozzi. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 of Rt. 95/Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Sept. 10 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
