Obituary of Elizabeth Oliver
Elizabeth J. (Intoppa) Oliver, a resident of Burlington for 51 years, passed away at her home on Monday morning, Sept. 20, 2010. The wife of 60 years of the late George Oliver, she was 87 years old.
Elizabeth was born, raised and educated in East Boston. She was one of nine children born to the Italian immigrants late Ernest and Lenora Intoppa. Elizabeth worked for Millipore for over 15 years as a Technician. But her most cherished role in life was that of awife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to cook. Her Sunday dinners and holiday dinners were a favorite of everyone. She also babysat her grandchildren when they were younger. Elizabeth had a love of the ocean and had taken many trips with Aruba being her favorite place of destination. Elizabeth leaves a legacy of a loving family.
Elizabeth was the wife of the late George M. Oliver. She was the loving mother of Sandra Oliver of Burlington and George M. Oliver, Jr. & his wife Joanne of Billerica. She was the sister of William Intoppa of Medford, Dolores Pelosi of Reading and the late Josephine Fernandez, Mary Cuozzo, Armando, Louis, Richard, & Anna Intoppa. Grandmother of Lisa LeGallo & her husband Rob of Billerica, Craig Oliver & his wife Cindi of N. Chelmsford, Jeffrey Oliver & his wife Gina of Lowell, and Jonathan Oliver of Billerica. Great grandmother of Tyler Brown, Jack LeGallo, Shea, Zachary and Ryan Oliver.
A visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. – 12 Noon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 12:30 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
