Obituary of Mary Mohan
Mary A. Mohan, a longtime resident of Burlington, passed away at the Woburn Nursing Center on Monday afternoon, October 4, 2010. She was 86 years old.
Mary was born in her grandmother’s home in Woburn. She was one of 6 children born to the late Thomas and Agnes Mohan. She was raised in Burlington living in the Winnmere section almost her entire life. Mary was a graduate of St. Charles High School in Woburn. She worked at Boston Insurance Co. for a few years. She then went to work as a cashier in the cafeteria at Choate Hospital in Woburn for 34 years where she made many friendships. Mary was a true believer in volunteerism and gave of her time to the American Legion Auxiliary in Burlington as well as the VA in Bedford. Mary enjoyed cake decorating and would always remember her nieces and nephews birthdays with a specially decorated cake.
Mary is the beloved sister of Madeline Leonard & her husband John of Billerica, Helen Noonan of Burlington, and the late Thomas A., Margaret R. & Leo Mohan. Sister-in-law of Carolyn Mohan of New Boston, NH and the late Walter Noonan and Leona Mohan. Also survived by 19 nieces, nephews and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Sat. Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, Burlington at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Mary’s name may be made to St. Margaret’s Building Fund, 111 Winn St., Burlington, MA 01803.
