Obituary of Kenneth Schiavo

Kenneth D. Schiavo, Jr. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 13, 2010. He was only 38 years old. Kenny was born in Dorchester. He was a 1991 graduate of Medford High School. He worked as a roofer and was a member of the United Union of Roofers, Water Proofers and Allied Workers. Kenny had many interests and passions. He had a great enthusiasm for music and enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He was a surfing enthusiast and loved to cook. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. Kenny was a history buff who loved factual data and he loved trivia because of his extensive knowledge of the world. He simply appreciated spending time with his family and friends.

 

Kenny was the son of Carol (Flavin) Schiavo of Burlington. He is the brother of Stephen Carey of Bedford, Cauleen Carey of Bedford, and Gabrielle Schiavo of Woburn.  He was the uncle of Stephen Rao, Daniel Rao, Frankie Arsenault, and Joseph Schiavo. He was also the longtime family friend of Jennifer DeFilippo. He was also survived by many other family and friends.

 

Funeral services will be held from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington on Monday, October 18 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn Street, Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. Memorials in Kenny’s name may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, One Bulfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02114. massri.wish.org
