Obituary of William Glebus

William J. ‘Koko” Glebus, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, on Sunday evening, October 17, 2010. The husband of Barbara (Kelly) he was 75 years old. Koko , as he was affectionately known, was born, raised and educated in Cambridge. He was the son of the late John and Wanda Glebus. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving this country in the United States Air Force. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Koko went on to graduate from Northeastern University. He had a very successful career as an Engineer working for Polaroid for over 30 years. Koko and his wife lived for a brief period of time in Cambridge and then moved to Burlington where they lived for 32 years before moving to Woburn 4 years ago. Koko had a passion for salt water fishing. He would go fishing whenever he had an opportunity mostly at Cape Cod. It was a passion he shared with his family taking his children and their friends along with him. He also enjoyed attending the Horse Races at Suffolk Downs. Koko’s family was the most important part of his life and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Koko was the beloved husband of Barbara (Kelly). He was the loving father of Wanda Griffiths of Woburn, William J. Glebus, Jr. & his wife Debbie of Billerica and the late Patricia Glebus. Brother of Robert Glebus of Wareham. Loving grandfather of Taylor & Amber Griffiths and Patrick & Paige Glebus. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Oct. 21 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church, 851 Main St., Woburn at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Interment in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
