Obituary of Robert Bradley

Robert C. Bradley, a retired salesman, passed away after a brief illness at the Essex Park Rehabilitation Center in Beverly on Tuesday morning, October 19, 2010. He was 73 years old. Robert was born in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth Bradley. He grew up and was educated in Woburn. He was a 1956 graduate of Woburn High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served for 2 years during the Vietnam era. He attended Bentley College and was a graduate of Merrimack College. He had a long successful career as a salesman at a number of oil companies. He resided in Lynnfield for the past 15 years. Prior to that, he made his home in Burlington for 25 years. Robert had many interests and activities. He was a past member of the Woburn Kiwanis Club. He was a huge sports fan. He played hockey for many years. He shared his passion and knowledge of sports with his children. He coached Little League Baseball and Youth Hockey. He was the type of Dad who loved going out in the yard to throw a ball around or join a street hockey game. He was a baseball umpire for many years. He enjoyed playing tennis. He was a Boston sports fan, but the Patriots were his favorite team. Robert was the beloved husband of 50 years of Jane E. (Rafter) Bradley. He was the loving father of Susan Rose & her husband David of Gloucester, Pamela Doherty & her husband Brian of Nashua, NH, and David Bradley & his wife Susan of Tamarac, FL. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Bradley. He was the proud grandfather of Adam, Elise, Caitlyn, Aaron, Emily, Alexandra & Samantha. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Oct. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
