Obituary of Alice Rovatti

Alice (Fabbri) Rovatti, passed away at the Woodbriar of Wilmington Nursing Center on Sunday afternoon, September 2, 2012. The Beloved wife of Joseph Rovatti, she was 95 years old. Alice was born, raised and educated in Somerville. She was one of four children born to Italian Immigrants the late Licinio and Argia Fabbri. Alice worked for Youville Hospital for over 20 years. She worked as an Accounts Receivable Clerk as well as an Administrative Assistant. Alice retired at the age of 70. Alice and her husband belonged to the Dante Club in Somerville where they enjoyed dancing together and attending all their functions. They also traveled to Europe among many other places. Alice also had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Alice was a widow for over 30 years but that did not stop her from being an independent woman who lived a full and active life. Alice lived alone until this past year owning her own home. It wasn’t until this past year when she down sized to an apartment. She even balanced her own checkbook until just recently. Alice had a large circle of friends. She had a standing date with her friend to have their hair done and lunch every Friday. There was a group of 22 friends that travelled together visiting such locations at the Catskills. Alice also enjoyed watching movies and reading books. Alice was proud of her granddaughter Karla and was blessed to be part of her great grandson Will’s life. Alice was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Rovatti. She was the loving mother of Joseph Rovatti & his wife Nancy (Ciampa) of Burlington. Alice was the grandmother of Karla Palmer & her husband Gregory of Pelham, NH. Great grandmother of William “Will” Palmer. Sister of the late Edward Fabbri & his late wife Alma, Dante Fabbri of Woburn & his late wife Margaret, and Bruno Fabbri & his wife Mary of Chelmsford. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church 111, Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Friday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
