Mary Claire (Silva) Comey passed away at the age of 100 on December 14, 2010. Mary was the daughter of Portuguese immigrants, the late Joseph and Anna Silva. She grew up and was educated in Medford. She moved to Burlington in June of 1957. She had worked for 10 years at Filenes at the Burlington Mall. Her hobbies included painting, sewing, and crafts. Mary’s life spanned 2 World Wars, the Great Depression, a Man on the Moon, the invention of Television, Computers, and the Internet. She witnessed and experiences countless discoveries, events, and marvels of the past century. She will be remembered as a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was blessed with a long life surrounded by family and friends. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Patrick Comey. She was the loving mother of Patricia Edgerly & her husband William of Burlington and Cheryl Poulin of Merrimack, NH. She was predeceased by her siblings; Anna Johnson, Clara Perry and Francis Silva. She was the devoted grandmother of Lynne Rolllins & her husband Mark of Burlington, William Edgerly of Burlington, Lauren Cadagan & her husband Brian of Reading and Bart Poulin of Merrimack, NH. She was the great grandmother of Shawn, Molly, Meghan & Courtney Cadagan. Aunt of Carol DaSilva & her husband Herbert of Reading. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday Dec. 16 at 10 a.m. A visiting hour will be held one hour prior from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
