Obituary of Eleanor Dillon
Eleanor F. (Callinan) Dillon, a resident of Burlington for over 50 years, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. The wife of the late William P. Dillon, she was 81 years old. Ellie was born, raised and educated in Cambridge. She was one of 7 children born to the late John and Helen Callinan. Ellie and her husband settled in Burlington in 1960 where they raised their five children. Ellie’s life centered on her home and her family. After her children were grown she worked at Sears for a number of years. However, her priority in life was that of family. Ellie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be lovingly remembered.
Ellie was the beloved wife of the late William F. She was the loving mother of Daniel of Merrimack, NH, Kathleen Waters of Burlington, William of Merrimack, NH, Jean King of Billerica, and Mary Gentile of North Andover. Sister of James Callinan of Medford, Marie Napoles of SC, Robert Callinan of Pepperell, Patricia Wallent of Southborough, and the late Catherine McDevin and John Calllinan. Grandmother of Christina, Billy & Michael Waters, Justin, Dylan & Jillian King, Courtney, Rachael & Frankie Gentile, Meghan Dillan, Alex & Cassandra Zinzopoulas.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Jan 14 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
