Obituary of Ruth Zwicker

Ruth E. (Davis) Zwicker, a longtime resident of Burlington, passed away on Thursday morning, January 27, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her children. The loving wife of the late Arthur N. Zwicker, she was 87 years old. Ruth was born, raised and educated in Boston. She was one of eight children born to the late John H. and Eva B. (Faulkingham) Davis. Ruth and her husband Arthur were married in 1950 and moved to Burlington in 1956 where they raised their family. Ruth’s primary role in life was that of wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. When her children where grown she went to work at Jordan Marsh in Burlington for over 15 years as a Sales Rep in the Housewares Department. Ruth was an extrodinary Gardner who put as much pride and joy into her flowers as she did her children. Her beautiful stone wall gardens were the envy of her neighbors. Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Arthur N. Zwicker. She was the loving mother of Arthur N. Zwicker Jr. of Burlington, Lorraine McCarty & her husband William of Stoneham, Eileen Ghio & her husband Stephen of Princeton & Karen Hannon & her late husband Stephen of Billerica. Step-mother of Betty Nielsen of Norton. Sister of Louise Griffin of Key Largo, FL, and the late Irene Lampson, Winnie Kasper, Mary Mondello, John, Buddy, & Richie Davis. Ruth was loved and adored by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, Jan. 31 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, BURLINGTON.
