Obituary of Christine Petersen
Christine (Holder) Petersen, a resident of Burlington for over 50 years, passed away at her home unexpectedly on Monday morning, January 31, 2011. The beloved wife of Harold J. Petersen, she was 81 years old.
Christine was born in Quincy. She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Elsie Holder. She was raised and educated in the Western part of the state of Massachusetts. Christine was proud to be able to trace her decedents to those that came over to American on the Mayflower. Christine was a graduate of Boston School for Girls High School. She worked for 8 years as an Office Manager. She then stayed home to raise her five children. Christine was an active member of St. Mark’s Church in Burlington where she was a member of the Ladies Society. She had many talents including quilting, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. Christine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend that will be deeply missed.
Christine was the beloved wife of 56 years of Harold J. Petersen. She was the loving mother of Karen Whelton & her husband Paul of Danvers, Marcia Petersen of Woburn & her fiancé Joseph Capone, Nancy Dutton & her husband Robert of Dracut, Eric & his wife Martha of North Attleboro, and the late Leslie Petersen. Grandmother of Christine Lattuada, Kathleen Whelton, Brian Petersen, Jeffrey Petersen, & Rhiannon Dutton.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Feb. 3 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mark’s Church on Friday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. Memorials in Christine’s name may be made to St. Mark’s Church, 10 St. Marks Road, Burlington, MA 01803.
