Obituary of Larry Worob

Larry Worob, a World War II Veteran, passed away at the Newton Wellesley Hospital on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. He was 92 years old. Larry was born in Holliston. He was the son of Ukraine immigrants the late Larry and Eva Worob. He was raised and educated in the West End of Boston. Larry was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Army. He saw action in the Battle of the Bulge where he was injured and was the recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. In addition to receiving the Purple Heart he was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. Larry worked for at the New England Mutual Life Insurance Company in Boston for over 30 years. Larry is the father of Richard & his wife Marilyn of Las Vegas formerly of Burlington and Lillian Fusco & her husband Ray of Martha’s Vineyard. Brother of Rosie Ruocco of NY and the late Lena Nikolauk, Leda Ferullo, and Ann Wilbur. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Dear friend of Carol Morrow of Belmont. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, March 14 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:15 p.m.
