Obituary of Mary A. Bent
Mary A. Bent passed away at Woodbriar of Wilmington on Saturday morning, August 12, 2006. She was 82 years old.
Mary was raised and educated in Somerville. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary Bent. Mary lived in Somerville until 1971 when she moved to Burlington. She was employed as an Executive Secretary in the Legal Department of John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston for over 40 years. She retired in 1985. Mary enjoyed arts and crafts most especially needlepoint. She donated her crafts each year to the white elephant table at St. Malachy’s Christmas Fairs. She took pleasure in traveling and cooking. Mary was also an active member of both the Arlington and Burlington Senior Centers.
Mary is the beloved sister of Eleanor James of Burlington, Elizabeth Pontifex of Medford, Ralph O. Bent of CA, Robert F. Bent of Quincy, John R. Bent of Burlington and the late Warren Campbell, H. Russell Bent, Jr., Beverly Daly, and Dorothy Griffin. Many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews also survive her. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side, on Wednesday, August 16 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, Bedford St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
