Obituary of Helen Blumenthal
Helen Blumenthal, a retired bookkeeper passed away at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading on Monday morning, March 21, 2011. She was 69 years old.
Helen grew up in Arlington and was a graduate of Arlington High School. She made her home in Burlington where she raised her daughter, Leslie. She then made in her home in Stoneham for almost 25 years and then Billerica for the past 5 years. She had worked as a bookkeeper throughout her life. She had worked with Walden Industrial Supply, Simpson Corporation, and retired from R. Stahl Company. She enjoyed her work and all of her coworkers over the years.
Helen, in her free time, enjoyed to shop, travel, and cook. She enjoyed working and decorating her home. She loved entertaining her family and friends. She loved animals, especially her dogs.She had a small but extremely close family. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Ron, and caring mother and friend to her daughter, Leslie, and a proud and adoring grandmother of Michael. She always watched over and cared for her family and in the end stage of her illness and her family loving returned that love with the care and comfort they provided for her. She will be lovingly remembered.
Helen was the beloved wife of Ronald S. Blumenthal of Billerica. She was the loving mother of Leslie J. Warnock of Billerica. She was the proud grandmother of Michael J. Speranza of Billerica. She was the stepmother of Marc Blumenthal & his wife Michele of AL. She was predeceased by her parents; Anthony Cortese and Olga Powers, stepfather; John Powers, and brother; Robert Fresolo. She was also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her beloved dogs, Livvi & Roxy.
Funeral services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, March 25 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 6-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
