Obituary of Virginia Lavoie
Virginia “Ginger” Lavoie a retired employee of Verizon, passed away after a long illness at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading on Friday morning, March 25, 2011. She was 62 years old.
Ginger was born in Woburn, the daughter of the late Theodore and Catherine Rogers. She grew up and was educated in Woburn. Ginger was a graduate of Woburn High School. She had worked at Verizon as a Central Office Technician in Winchester for many years.
Ginger loved the outdoors and her family. She enjoyed deep sea fishing. She loved nature and animals. She enjoyed reading, knitting and traveling. Ginger loved sharing the holidays, special events and celebrations with her family and friends. Ginger had an extremely close and special relationship with her daughter, Susan. She was the sister of James Rogers of Tewksbury, formerly of Burlington, Kay Govoni of Burlington, Donald Rogers of NC, and the late Margaret McLaren.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, March 28 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Church, 280 Main Street, Woburn at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 3-6 p.m. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
