Obituary of Mary Efantes

Mary Efantes, proprietor of Copy Gals, Poughkeepsie, NY , passed away after a long illness at the Wilmington Health Care Center in Wilmington on Monday morning, April 11, 2011. She was 86 years old. Mary was born in Woburn to the late Charles and Marina Kiklis. She grew up and was educated in Woburn. She married her late husband Charles Efantes and they settled in Wappingers Falls, New York. She raised her 2 children and worked very hard for many years running the Printing Shop she and her husband started. In her retirement years, she enjoyed working part time at Filenes as a sales clerk. She was extremely active in her Church, Kimesis Tis Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church, Poughkeepsie, past President Greak Ladies Philoptochos, Daughters of Penelope and Zonta International and Eastern Star. She also enjoyed golfing with her husband. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Charles Efantes. She was the sister of Katherine (George) Kevgas of Methuen, Alexandra Scantalides of Billerica, formerly of Burlington, the late Anna Papadopoulos, James, Harry,Philip, Angelo, and Louis Kiklis. Sisters-in-law Stella, Lucille, Dorothy Kiklis of Woburn, Bess Vieron of Memphis, TN and Brother-in-law Efthemios (Tim) Papadopoulos of New Jersey. She was the grandmother of Ryan and Chelsea. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Montvale Ave, Woburn, on Wednesday, April 13 at 11 a.m. A visiting hour will be held at the Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. The interment will be private. Arrangements under the direction of the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, BURLINGTON.
