Obituary of Victor Pyke

Victor A. Pyke, Jr., a resident of Woburn for the past 19 years, passed after a long illness at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Thursday, April 28, 2011. The husband of Debora A. (Fitzgerald) he was 51 years old. Victor was born in Boston. He was the son of the late Victor and Shirley Pyke. He was raised and educated in Somerville. He was a member of the National Guard for 22 years. Victor worked at Raytheon Co. and then worked as a Printer at Ames Safety Envelope Co. in Somerville for 12 years. He enjoyed the outdoors going to the beach and fishing. He also enjoyed hockey and horse racing. Victor was the beloved husband of Debora A. (Fitzgerald). Son of the late Victor & Shirley Pyke. He was the brother of Richard Young of Weymouth, Diane Young of Needham, Dennis Rodgers of FL, Kathleen Goodwin of FL, Albert Rodgers of NH, Sandra Pyke of Somerville, Michael Pyke of Burlington, Patricia Reilly & her husband Jack of NH, and the late Thomas and Donald Pyke. Son-in-law of James & Gloria Fitzgerald of Burlington. Godfather and uncle of the late Deanna Cremin. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Tuesday, May 3 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Monday 4 -8 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Memorials in Victor’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
