Sheila, Stephen, Michael, and Jillian – I was stunned to hear Steve had passed away. Steve was a primary part of a group of friends from the “acre” that shared many memorable experiences. I was fortunate to have played hockey, football and baseball with him throughout high school, but more important he was also a great friend sharing good times. We have a tendency to grow apart to make our own way as we develop, expecting to renew the strong friendships developed during our formative age. Sadly, we do not take into account that some day we may lose the opportunity to re-connect. That day has come for me. We can only pray that we will reconnect in a better place and continue the journey together. Steve will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that he is resting having found peace. I will grieve over his passing and equally celebrate his life. May you all find the strength to get through the heartbreak of the occasion and give strength to each other and celebrate his life.

I'm thankful to have grown up in such an amazing neighborhood. Through this difficult time we continue to support one another and truly care about eachothers hardships. There's not a memory in my life that doesn't include your family from childhood to my wedding. My fondest memories of Steve groing up are the late night parties we used to have, My Dad and Steve having fireworks battles on the 4th of July, his impecable dance moves and ability to always have a good time. His never calling me be my first name, always "Woody", watching sporting events (one of my favorites was last fall watching a football game that I had bet on and Mike was routing for the other team just despite me and Steve asking if he needed to separate us. Brought me back to when we were kids! Whenever I was in his presence even in the last month he always had the ability to make me laugh. I will miss him terribly and am here for you always.
Lots of love
Kim

To Stephen's Family:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. There is never a right or easier time to say goodbye to one we love. May your happy memories shared together throughout the years with your husband, father and uncle bring you comfort through the tears that will flow now and in the future. Stephen's body may have lost the battle but his soul has won the war. Because, just as he is leaving this earth, another soul will soon arrive to carry on his spirit and legacy and I am sure that child will learn as it grows just how special "Grandpa" was.
I know that Mike and Steve will be in their black and gold jersey tonight in Heaven and sharing a brew as they toast their Champion Bruins!
God Bless You All!

Sheila, Steve, Mike, Kerrie, Jill, and Rob,
I am so sorry and sad that Steve has left us too soon. I remember meeting Steve and Sheila when I was 6 years old, and they were looking at their soon to be new house. I was so excited that they were moving in, and that I'd have new friends to play with. I have such incredible memories of Steve while growing up in the neighborhood. We were so fortunate to have such a close knit neighborhood where everyone was an extended family. Steve was so much fun and full of life, and he was a great friend to all of us. I am very grateful for the times that we went to the Bruins games, and had dinner in the north end of Boston. I am also grateful that I was able to attend Jill's wedding, and see how proud and happy he was. I will truly miss him, and I'm so sorry for all of you.
Love, C.J., JoAnne, Charlie, and Ryan Wood

Sheila, Stephen, Michael, Jillian and Family,
I was heartbroken to hear the news about Steve. I feel so blessed that we were able to spend some fun time together at Kim's wedding and walk down memory lane of the old neighborhood. Steve took such good care of my Mom and Dad when we could not get there ourselves. We appreciated that more than he could have ever known. However, that just speaks volumes to who Steve was as a person. He will be missed by so many. I will keep all of you close in my thoughts and prayers in the coming days. With my Sincerest Sympathy, Love Shelly
