Obituary of Virginia Rasmussen
Virginia A. Rasmussen, a resident of Burlington since 1960, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Friday, July 8, 2011. She was 82 years old. Virginia was born in Cambridge. She was raised and educated in Watertown. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Evelyn Hansen. After graduating from High School she went to Kathryn Gibbs School. As a young woman, on her own, she moved to Washington D. C. where she worked for the Pentagon. She settled in Burlington in 1960 where she raised her two sons. Virginia’s primary role was that of homemaker but she did work for a few years at Epsilon. Virginia enjoyed playing cards weekly with the ladies in her neighborhood which was a ritual that they continued for decades. Virginia was a loving mother and grandmother that will be missed.
Virginia was the beloved mother of Thomas & his wife Charlene of Winchester and Gary of Burlington. She was the sister of Wayne Hansen of Millis, Richard Hansen of OR, and the late Muriel Martin. Grandmother of Ashley of Washington, D.C. formerly of Methuen. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, July 11 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be private.
