Obituary of William J. Garibotto

William J. Garibotto, a life long resident of Burlington, passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 2006. He was 72 years old. Bill was born in Somerville. He was the son of the late Amadeo and Mary J. Garibotto. He was raised and educated in Burlington and was a graduate of the Burlington High School Class of 1951. Bill was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving his country in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He was employed as an Accountant for John Hancock Insurance Company retiring after 40 years of employment. While working at John Hancock he was a member of the Quarter Century Club and the F.C.A., which was a club that organized many of the social events for the employees. Bill was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. He would go out golfing once or twice a week with his friends. He was a fan of all the Boston sports teams most especially the Boston Red Sox. Bill was a loving husband and father who will be deeply missed by all. Bill is the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Callahan). He is the loving father of Stephen of Burlington and Robert & his wife Shannon of Stamford, CT. He is the brother of Richard J. of West Townsend. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, August 28 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Bill’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
