Obituary of Helen Steele
Helen Marie Steele, went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, August 4, 2011. Helen was born in Cary, Maine, the daughter of the late George and Mildred McQuarrie. Helen grew up in Cary and was a graduate of Hodgdon High School and Barrington Bible College. She had been a resident of Burlington for the past 49 years. Helen was a woman of great faith and loved people. She was a very active member of the Church of the Open Bible. At the church she participated in many of the Ladies and Hospitality Ministries. She was a school teacher at the Church’s Open Bible Academy for 17 years. She loved her students and sharing her knowledge and faith with them on a daily basis.
Helen was a devoted wife to her husband John for 52 years. They shared in their many beliefs and interests. She was a caring and understanding mother to her son Bruce Steele & his wife Loretta of Billerica and her daughter Lynne Steele of Burlington. She was so pleased that her daughter took education as a profession, and was very proud of her son’s work in his own plumbing company and most of all that they shared her faith and both are active members of the church. She was the proud grandmother of Evan, Eric, Jordan, and Jacob Steele and great grandmother of Remington Steele. She was also survived by her sister Linda Henderson and her husband Edward of Lakeland, FL.
Memorial Services will be held at the Church of the Open Bible, 3 Winn St., Burlington on Monday, August 8 at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Memorials in Helen’s name may be made to the Open Bible Academy, 3 Winn St., Burlington, MA 01803. Arrangements under the direction of the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, BURLINGTON.
