Obituary of Joseph Ognibene

Joseph J. Ognibene, passed away at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, on Monday, August 15, 2011. The beloved husband of the late Elena (Uccello) he was 88 years old. Joe was born in Boston and raised in the North End of Boston. He was the son of the late Carlo and Vita Ognibene. Joseph worked as a truck driver for Hemingway, Buchanan and Highway Express. He was a longshoreman unloading freight from the incoming boats on the Commonwealth Pier in Boston and loaded trucks at the Northern Terminal. Joe enjoyed bowling and playing billiards. He enjoyed spending time with Nieces, Nephews and their families. Joseph is the beloved husband of Elena (Uccello). Brother of the late Marie Alberino, Frank, Charles & Salvatore Ognibene. Beloved uncle of Elaine Wishneusky, Anita Connerty, Mary Fitzpatrick, Nancy Romano, Paul Uccello, Pamela Greene and Michael Uccello. Great uncle of Mark & Carl Wishneusky and Sean Connerty. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 12 Noon. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 1 p.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 5:30 – 8 p.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
