Obituary of Frederick Graham
Frederick R. Graham, Jr., retired Vice President of Graham Associates, passed away in Grand Bay, Alabama on Saturday morning, October 13, 2012. He was 79 years old.
Fred was born in Woburn. He was raised and educated in Burlington. He was the son of the late Frederick and Violet Graham. Fred was a 1950 graduate of Burlington High School where he excelled in sports playing Football, Basketball and Baseball. He met his first wife Marjorie while in High School and they were both Junior and Senior Prom Dates. After high school Fred entered the service serving his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. . After the War Fred worked as a Burlington Police Officer for 6 years. In 1955 Fred and his dad started Graham Associates which was involved in Commercial Real Estate and owned such businesses as the original Burlington Ice Place. Fred retired in 1977 moving to Cape Cod, then Florida and eventually residing in Alabama. He enjoyed playing cribbage, boating and saltwater Fishing. Fred loved being with people and reminiscing of stories of the past.
Fred was the beloved husband of Karen and the late Marjorie (Peterson). He was the father of Coleen Williams of Grand Bay, AL and Frederick “Ricky” Graham, III of Woburn. Brother of the late Whitey and John. Grandfather of Rebekah Johnson of Southbridge, Jeremiah Johnson of FL, Frederick IV of Lowell and Robert A. Williams of Covington, GA. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St, BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 1-4 p.m. Graveside Services will be held at Pine Haven Cemetery, Bedford St., Burlington on Monday at 1:30 p.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Memorials in Fred’s name may be made to the Shriners’ Burn Institute, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
