Lori was our fearless leader and our queen of the book club and our rock. She was the one we turned to when we didn’t understand a passage. She kept us on track with reading from her highlighted passages. The one time she didn’t come to book club, we picked a James Patterson book! She was disappointed in our choice and vowed never to miss again! We were not to be trusted in our book choices! Our book club was about so much more than books, sharing stories of our lives together! We are sad and sorry and depressed and we will miss her so much. Lori, we love you! We were the lucky ones.... to have known her. We will continue to meet and keep her in our hearts at every book club. Our dear friend will be in our hearts forever.

I’m so grateful for Lori - I enjoyed teaching her children at Memorial Elementary. She taught me so much- buts most importantly, how to advocate for your children with determination and grace. I fondly remember her handmade thank you notes she would send in with Lars, Alex and Annika. I will miss her Facebook posts and words of wisdom.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Paul, Lars, Alex and Annika.
Love,
Mrs. (Crystal) Keating

Our hearts go out to the Johnson Family. May you know you are surrounded by so many who love you. There are spirits who transcend this earth. Your mother was one of those spirits. Her spirit lives. Hold tight in knowing she is with you.

I remember the first time I saw Lori. I was eating breakfast in the Commons and my suitemate pointed her out and said, "That's Happy Lori. Pray she doesn't sit here. She's always happy. Even before breakfast. It's not natural." Over the next four years, I became friends with Lori. It was a unique relationship and came to include her parents, siblings, and an aunt and uncle or two. There were campfires, inner tubes, motorcycles and a band of gypsies or two. I'd call her up and ask, "A cowboy was caught robbing a bank. The town folk strung him and his horse up. Was the horse hanged or hung?" She'd give that unforgettable laugh and we'd talk about how good and bad our kids were. Naturally hers were good and mine were totally depraved and chock full of original sin. I have doubted many things in my life but one thing is certain: When God created Man to have someone to walk with and talk with, He had Lori in mind.

Lori touched the lives of each of my four children as their teacher at LCA. Her kindness warmth and loving heart made them feel cared for and safe. She is and was such and important part of LCA to us. We will miss her big smile and encouraging words. May the Johnson family know how much we will miss Lori and always think of her with warm memories. Eric and Kristen O’Brien

I was shocked and heartbroken to hear this. I do remember Lori as a wonderful part of the honeymooners couples retreat that my husband and I attended in the early years of our marriage. She had an infectious laugh and a really great sense of humor amongst her many other wonderful gifts. She was a woman of God and a wonderful wife. My heart is broken for her family my condolences to all who knew and loved her

I will always treasure my memories of Lori as my beloved English teacher at LCA. I grew up as an avid reader and being in Lori’s classes took my love of literature to new and challenging levels. She was fun, kind, compassionate, sometimes tough, but always fair. I struggled to keep interested in other subjects such as math and science and took solace in my classes with Lori as her outlook and curriculum spoke both to my heart and my needs to think deeply. I am incredibly grateful that I was fortunate enough to have her guiding such an integral part of my life. My prayers go out to her family and friends, she was a truly special woman who touched the lives of so so many and will be missed deeply.

I am so sorry for your terrible and sudden loss. I will never forget the way Lori (Mrs. Johnson) welcomed my son into the LCA community. She knew that he struggled with writing and she spent extra time helping and encouraging him to become the college student he is today. I loved talking to Lori about teaching and always admired the work she did to bring joy into the classroom. I can only imagine the love she gave to all of you. Please know that many, many people are sending prayers your way.

Lori and her family continued their Calvin connection by hosting the New England Saints during the January interim. Her happy face and generous love for people was evident as she opened her doors to our group of 25+ and served us warm food on cold Lexington evenings. Prayers for you, Alex and family. Profs. Words cannot express how sorry we are to hear of Lori's passing. I still find it hard to believe that she has died. The Johnsons have lived right next door to us for many years even before Lars was born. They have always been great neighbors to us and are always willing to lend us a helping hand whenever we needed one. My heart goes out to Paul and the children and I pray for them in dealing with this great loss.
May you rest in peace dear Lori and may God have mercy on your soul.
Our deepest condolences

O God of all spirits and of every flesh, who didst trample down death and didst overcome the devil, bestowing life to this world; do Thou, O Lord, give rest to the soul of Thy departed servant Lori in a place of light, in a place of green pasture, in a place of refreshment, from whence pain, sorrow and mourning have fled away. Every sin committed by her in thought, word or deed, do Thou as our good and man-befriending God forgive: for there is no man that shall live and not sin, Thou alone art without sin. Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is truth. For Thou art the resurrection, the life and the repose of Thy departed servant Lori, O Christ our God, and to Thee we ascribe glory, together with Thine eternal Father and Thine all-holy, good and life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Lori was the master Christian teacher with a true heart for the students and the pedagogy. Everyone loved her as a teacher and as a friend. Lori possessed such a passion for all of mankind and was always upbeat and optimistic. She never spoke ill of anyone. She was fun to be around and was incredibly approachable and very, very sincere. She will be greatly missed as she was one of the mighty pillars at Lexington Christian Academy. I taught with her in the 80's and 90's and returned last year to teach with her again. We truly aspire to be like Lori. May her redeeming memories be the sustenance, hope and joy of her beautiful family.
With love and prayers,
