Obituary of Estelle Carroll

Estelle “Sandy” (Panagiotacopoulos) Carroll, of Chelmsford, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Monday evening, December 31, 2018.  She was 80 years of age.

Born and raised in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Christos, and the late Eugenia Panagiotacopoulos.  “Sandy,” as she was known to her family and friends, had a deep spiritual belief in God.  She was a faithful and active member of St. Mary’s Church in Chelmsford, and was a member of the weekly prayer group at the Chelmsford Arms.

Sandy loved to cook and garden.   She loved animals most especially her cat “Midnight.”  She enjoyed spending time with her many friends at Chelmsford Arms where she lived.  She loved the Boston Red Sox and watching the Patriots games on Sunday.  She found great joy in the simple things in life.  Sandy is remembered as a kind and loving person and a woman of deep faith.  Each day was a blessing to her, and her life was lived with gratitude for all she had.  Sandy will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. 

Sandy is survived by two daughters, Kathleen LaPorte of Hudson, NH, and Theresa Carroll of San Diego, CA; and she was preceded in death by one son, the late Robert James Carroll.  She is also survived by two grandchildren, Alyssa and Charlie LaPorte; and five siblings, Sophia Rallis of NH, Andrea Zwicker of Dracut, Julie Cunningham of NH, Betty McLellan of Waltham, and John Cunningham of Chelmsford.  In addition to her son and her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by three sisters, the late Patricia Felton, the late Helen Fascione, and the late Virginia Abisi.  Funeral Services will be private.   Memorial donations in Sandy’s name may be made to the Lowell Humane Society, 951 Broadway St. Lowell, MA 01854.     Arrangements by the Edward V.
