Obituary of Teresa Doyle
Teresa Christina Doyle leaves a legacy of family and devotion. Teresa was born in Somerville, the daughter of Irish immigrants, the late John and Teresa Jones. She grew up and was educated in Cambridge. She married Francis Stephen Doyle and they eventually settled in Arlington to raise their 6 children. Being a mother was Teresa’s greatest joy. She was the strength behind her children and someone who you could go to with any problem, issue or concern. She was someone who was always understanding and compassionate and above all always loved her family unconditionally. It gave her a great joy to be a part of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives, to see them grow up and become adults and parents as well. There wasn’t anything more special than being with her family, celebrating a holiday, special event, or simply enjoying one of her famous Pot Roast dinners. She taught her family how to bear life’s many challenges with courage and faith.
In addition to raising her six children, Teresa worked for 25 years at Filenes in Belmont. Upon her retirement she enjoyed many actives years with her friends and sister traveling. Teresa also remained active volunteering at Lahey Clinic and as an enthusiastic participant at St. Barbara’s Young at Heart’s Club. She enjoyed the monthly meetings and trips they offered.
Teresa was the beloved wife of Francis S. Doyle, who passed away in 1975. She was the loving mother of Teresa Wall & her husband Joseph of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Mary O’Sullivan & her husband David of Billerica, Stephen & his wife Rebecca of Woburn, Christine Deeney & her husband Paul of Belfast, ME, Helen Donisi & her husband Joseph of Hudson, NH, and the late Daniel Doyle.
