Obituary of Joan Marie Lemelin

Joan Marie (DiBiase) Lemelin, a woman devoted to her family, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019. The beloved wife of the late Albert Lemelin, she was 78 years old.

Joan was born, raised and educated in Portland Maine. She was one of six children born to Italian immigrants the late James and Rosina DiBiase.  She would marry Albert Lemelin in 1968 and they would move to Burlington in 1971.

Joan worked as a Lab Technician throughout her life.  She retired from Winchester Pediatricians Inc. after 15 years of part-time employment.   Joan’s life was all about her family.   She always put the needs of her husband and three sons first. She was always there cheering on her sons at their sporting.  Joan instilled in them the importance of family values and it brought her great joy to see the close relationship between her three sons.   She was her sons’ friend, protector and always a source of comfort and encouragement for them.  In recent years Joan especially cherished the time she spent with her three grandchildren Julia, Bubba and Jack.

Joan had a kind, loving and sweet personality.  She enjoyed socializing and when Joan entered a room, people would tend to gravitate to her.     Joan will be remembered for the kindness and compassion she showed her family and friends.

Joan was the beloved wife of the late Albert Lemelin.  Loving mother of Patrick & his wife Morgana of Billerica, Stephen & his wife Kelly of Burlington and Luke of Burlington.  Proud grandmother of Julia, Bubba and Jack.  Sister of Anna Romano of ME, Francis DiBiase of ME, James DiBiase, Jr of ME and the late Viola Romano and Dominic DiBiase.  Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt., 128/95 Woburn side) on Thursday, April 25 from 4-8 p.m.  Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, April 26 at 9 a.m.  Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m.  Burial to follow in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
